"2015 - Upper Hunter Theatre Forum plus Stones in His Pocket"

Arts Upper Hunter is calling all actors, directors, writers, designers, choreographers, dancers, publicists, technicians, drama
teachers and theatre lovers to attend the inaugural Upper Hunter Theatre Forum.

The Forum will be an opportunity to meet like minded people from across the region, share what you’re up to, discover new opportunities and start developing a regional approach to growing theatre in the Upper Hunter. Facilitated by Jane Kreis, director of the newly formed NSW Theatre Network, there’ll also be three guest speakers including Amy Hardingham, Ken Longworth and Chris Bendall. Amy is the artistic director Tantrum Youth Arts in Newcastle, Ken is the long time theatre writer and critic for the Newcastle Herald and Chris is one of Australia’s leading contemporary theatre directors and CEO of Critical Stages.

As a special treat, the forum will be followed by Critical Stages’ new production of Stones in His Pockets, directed by Chris Bendall and featuring Sean Hawkins and Grant Cartwright. Stones In His Pockets by Marie Jones has played all over the world including a five year run in London’s West End. The award winning play tells the hilarious and moving tale of a quiet Irish community turned upside down by the arrival of a Hollywood movie shoot.

The forum will be held at Singleton Senior Citizens Centre on Saturday 12th of September from 11 am until 3.30 pm. A light lunch will be provided. Stones in His Pockets will play just around the corner at Singleton Youth Venue at 4 pm.

Cost to attend the forum and the play is $30. Cost to attend the forum alone is $20. Cost to attend the play alone is $20 and $15 concession.
