"2015 - Storytelling in Muswellbrook and Singleton"

Arts Upper Hunter engaged accredited storytellers Dr Julie Mundy-Taylor and Megan Pascoe to run a series of storytelling workshops for selected high school students and nursing home residents in Singleton and Muswellbrook.

As well, Arts Upper Hunter in-conjunction with the Singleton Library, held an "Adults Only Storytelling Evening" at the library on Friday 23 October. Julie and Megan, as well as some local storytellers, enthralled audiences with stories true and tall, myths, legends and historical folk stories.

Julie Mundy-Tayor is a passionate advocate of the value of oral and written literature for children and for adults. She has been a professional storyteller for 25 years and is an Accredited Teller with the Australian Storytelling Guild (NSW). Julie rang workshops for students at Singleton High School and Muswellbrook High School.

Megan Pascoe has created and run successful storytelling programs for elders with advanced dementia and has also developed a program combining storytelling and weaving for bereaved adults. She ran workshops for the residents at Calvary Care of Muswellbrook and Singleton.
