  • Promote local talent by providing a creative base and tourist facility of local significance.
  • Engage in activities intended to develop the practice of arts and crafts in the community.
  • To be the most progressive Arts Society in the Lower Hunter Region through participation, promotion, support and management.

 BRIEF HISTORY:

  • Our Society, (incorporated in 1999 as Hunter Highland Arts Incorporated but changed its name in 2003 to Dungog Arts Society Incorporated).  has approx. 60 members, of all age, ethnicity and gender.  It is a not-for-profit organization, run by a committee of volunteers.
  • By providing monthly newsletters, exhibitions, workshops, demonstrations, excursions, drawing and painting sessions, and the opportunity to display and sell, we promote new skills towards a career in art.   Professional members mentor our beginners.
  • Exhibitions include the Annual Open Competitive Exhibition,(attracting entries far afield with 10 sections including 3 for Youth – supported by our schools),  the Mini–Archies Portrait Competition and Dungog Agricultural Show.
