The Upper Hunter Festival Forum was held on Tuesday 18th September at Singleton.
Many thanks to everyone who attended Arts Upper Hunter’s Festival Forum and especially speakers Professor John Connell, Jan Fallding, Nancy Knudsen and Deidre Peebles.
Festivals and major events are great for community and economic development but behind the scenes it’s not always plain sailing.
The Upper Hunter Festival Forum is a networking event for stakeholders to share the ups and downs of organising local festivals.
Guest speaker is Professor John Connell from the University of Sydney, co-author of Outback Elvis, the story of a festival, its fans & a town called Parkes. The Parkes Elvis Festival is now listed in Frommer’s 300 Unmissable Events & Festivals Around the World. Professor Connell and a panel of local festival stakeholders – Jan Fallding, Deidre Peebles, Nancy Knudsen and Ruaan Van Der Wath – will get discussion rolling on Upper Hunter successes, challenges and opportunities for a regional approach.
The forum will be held at Singleton Diggers Club, York Street Singleton, on from 10 am to 1 pm. It’s free but you must register with Arts Upper Hunter on 6541 4776 or firstname.lastname@example.org
