The Academy of Country Music is a professional development initiative of the Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA). Since 1997, The Academy has mentored, supported and contributed to the careers of hundreds of performers from every corner of Australia and New Zealand.
They run two in-person programs per year, one for Juniors (U18) and the other for Seniors (18+), in Tamworth NSW. These programs are open to anyone to apply Australia-wide, and whilst our focus is on country music, a lot of the content is applicable across other genres.
Applicants can apply for the Singer/Songwriter/Performer course, or the Instrumental course, and both are run concurrently, culminating in a public ticketed graduation concert at the end of each course. Instrumental students play a key role in the backing band for this concert.
The Junior Academy will run in Tamworth, NSW from 14 – 20 July 2024, and will incorporate the unique Parent Course, which runs alongside the Junior Course for young singer/songwriter/performers and instrumentalists.
Places for this prestigious course are highly sought after so don’t delay in submitting your application. Applications will close on 30 April 2024 and are open to students aged 17 and under.
