Expressions of Interest for the Regional Arts Network State-wide youth project, Horizons: Creative Industries Career Launchpad are now open! This is a major opportunity for young creative people from Dungog, Singleton, Muswellbrook and Upper Hunter Shires who would love to work in a creative field that they’re passionate about.
Horizons is a creative industry mentoring and career development program for NSW regional youth. The project will run over 18 months and will support 75 young people from across NSW wanting to pursue a career in the creative industries.
Five of them will come from our region. Arts Upper Hunter is thrilled to provide this opportunity to regional young people aged between 16 and 27 years.
Participants will be paired with experienced mentors from their chosen field to address the needs and interests of each individual and support them. They’ll connect into a network of peers and build strong state-wide networks early in their careers.
“This is such a great program and opportunity for someone starting out in creative industries,” says John O’Brien, Executive Director of Arts Upper Hunter. “We believe participants will not only be able to explore and find new work and study pathways, but they’ll discover a whole community of like-minded people on a similar trajectory.”
Arts Upper Hunter welcomes diversity. Applications from First Nations people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply. Please contact us if you need additional support with your application.
What are creative industries? They can be anything from traditional arts like painting and music, to digital work or gaming, to graphic design and advertising, radio, podcasting, ceramics, or so much more – feel free to call John and see if your area of passion fits the “creative industries” area.
Expressions of Interest are now open, and applications close 6th of November. Apply now!
