Create NSW have overhauled their funding model and system, the Arts & Cultural Funding Program. They’re holding live information sessions and online webinars to explain the new approach and answer questions. There are a lot of questions, including about the changeover period. I strongly urge you to have a look at the changes, some of which are still being developed. This is the overview: Arts and Cultural Funding Program reform | NSW Government.
If you sometimes apply for grants through Create NSW, or are considering doing so, these are significant shifts, including the end of negotiated funding (which affects the Regional Arts Network, ie us at AUH), and competitive 2, 4 and 8 year funding streams, which will affect all of us.
Specifically there is a face-to-face info session for the Hunter in Newcastle on Friday 21 June at 10am. Connect with Create NSW | NSW Government takes you the full list of info sessions. You’ll also find a recording of last weeks’ webinar on the new approach. (There will be more webinars coming soon.)
An introduction to the new Arts and Cultural Funding Program: Hunter session | Humanitix takes you directly to the Hunter booking page. AUH will make every effort to attend.
Join an Artform Board
While I’m here, Create are reforming the Artform Boards (the ones that do the assessments – they meet online). There are often very few regional folk on these, but if you feel you or someone you know would be interested in joining them, here’s the link for that too! Create NSW Artform Boards Expressions of Interest 2024-25 | NSW Government Applications close on 10 July.
