Most of the members of the choir are choristers in the women’s choir, Cantelina. They are joined by invited guests from The Upper Hunter, Newcastle and Sydney to form the Cantelina Chorale.
All profits from these concerts go to two Scone community groups, The Scone Singers and Scone Arts and Crafts.
The music has been chosen by the director, Samantha Cobcroft and choral enthusiast Jan Spencer. The repertoire ranges from unaccompanied Italian madrigals about love, death and crickets to 8 part unaccompanied English gems such as Pearsall’s Lay a Garland, sacred vocal music by Palestrina, Sweelinck and others as well as some choral classics such as Fauré’s Cantique de Jean Racine and Lauridsen’s A Magnum Mysterium.
Choose from 3 venues (or attend all three!); the glorious acoustic of Singleton Uniting Church, the beautiful acoustic of St Luke’s Anglican Church in Scone or the more intimate private venue of the stunning private residence, Karoola House in Muswellbrook.
