Looking to expand your skills in creative concept development and design? Want to learn more about mural painting and public art?
Then the Celebration of Color project is for you!
Celebration of Colour is a project celebrating Scone Arts & Craft Inc (SA&C) 60th anniversary bringing together place, colour and art in a community project painting a mural on the side of a shipping container on the property of Scone Arts & Craft. Celebration of Colour has been made possible thanks to the Country Arts Support Program 2024 Arts Upper Hunter grant program and is looking for participants from across the Upper Hunter to be part of a free two day workshop to kick off the project.
This free two day workshop will be facilitated by well known artist Victoria Kitanov. Victoria will work with participants over the two days to define the scope and theme of the project.
On day one we will brain-storm ideas and work together to generate inspirational and creative ideas that will be developed into an initial design for the mural. We will then learn about mural painting techniques, materials and equipment.
On day two we will bring it all together with preliminary drawings; expanding and refining our mural design. We will then discuss the next phases of the project (painting the mural) and look at scheduling for this work – most likely June August.
Saturday 20 & Sunday 21 April 2024
Scone Arts & Crafts Centre, Kingdon St, Scone.
The workshop will be held at Scone Arts & Craft 63 Kingdon St Scone. For further information please call Project Coordinator Marion Carroll 0423 915 718.
