Between Earth and Abstraction is an exhibition of artworks by Muswellbrook artist, Dayarne Smith that opens on Saturday 1 March 2025 at the Artisan Collective Port Stephens, at d’Albora Marinas, Nelson Bay.
The collection is inspired by the colours of nature – blues, greens, earthy browns – with each painting blending natural colour palettes with expressive, non-representational forms. The collection navigates the interplay between the external and the internal: the familiar textures of the natural world merging with the fluid, subjective gestures of abstraction. Through layered compositions and gestural marks, Dayarne aims to capture places that are felt rather than seen. The works invite you to linger in a space where reality intertwines with perceptions. Between Earth and Abstraction is not about defining what is, but about opening a space for what could be.
Dayarne Smith is an abstract artist based in Muswellbrook NSW. Her acrylic and mixed media works are vibrant and expressive, exploring mood and emotion through colour and textural layers. To see more of Dayarne’s work you can visit her website www.dayarnesmithart.com
