A celebration of Dungog’s rich bike culture in line with World Bicycle Day
On Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th of June 2022, we are proud to be hosting the first annual festival called ‘Dungog Moving Forward’ in alignment with World bicycle day, to celebrate our town’s rich bicycle culture. The 2 day festival will be hosted in Dungog, and the programme will include bike races, art exhibitions, workshops for kids and adults, live performances by local musicians and food.
Given the recent impact to local tourism, we are looking to invite and encourage people from across NSW, particularly those who are bike and cycling enthusiasts, to stay in town, and participate in our wide range of events including:
• Ride Dungog bike races at The Common
(Beginner, intermediate and advanced riders are encouraged to participate)
• Live performances by local performers as well as Indigenous Didgeridoo player, Morris Perry
• Art workshops and an exhibition of bike themed art at Dungog by Design gallery
• Curated projection of artworks on local heritage buildings in Dowling Street
• Bike themed trivia night
• Experiencing the town art trail (artworks displayed all weekend)
• Bike themed chalk painting (for the kids)
• Town bike sculpture hunt
• Dress up your bike and join the bike parade
• Bicycle helmet parade at Jubilee Park
• Bicycle themed films showing for free
