We are looking for someone to help develop creative programs for Aboriginal artists and communities in our region.
The Aboriginal Arts Officer (AAO) position is an exciting opportunity for someone with connections to community, an interest in the arts and a desire to help make a difference. The right candidate will become a member of a very supportive state-wide network of AAOs.
Arts Upper Hunter is the peak body for the creative industries across the Local Councils of Dungog, Muswellbrook, Singleton and Upper Hunter. We are primarily funded by Create NSW and those four councils to deliver creative opportunities for the communities of this region.
This is a contract position, two days a week for six months.
Initially you will be working with our current AAO, who’s leaving in a couple of months, to support three programs: the Here Now & Always online Festival and art market, the First Nations part of the Liddell WORKS program, and our Cultural Trails project. But there’s a lot happening, like a new Facebook page, mural projects, Professional Development and promotions.
This is an exciting and rare chance to become part of a small collaborative team and grow your skills in arts, cultural development and comms.
Please provide an Expression of Interest by 5pm Thursday 13 April to
