At last the Here Now & Always Online Festival & Art Market is becoming a reality. It all happens in late May, and Arts Upper Hunter is looking for artists who would like to sell work.
We want to hear from you! You need to live in the area and be creating work for sale. Any saleable work including paintings, wearables, cultural heritage works such as tools or weavings, sculpture, ceramics, music, video, photos or poetry!
Please get in touch with us by 17 March 2023.
The organisers are also looking for workshops or local events – so if you have something you’d like to show off (dance, ceremony, workshop, play, live gig, speech, performance art?) we may be able to accommodate you.
“Here Now & Always” is a new initiative of the Aboriginal Regional Arts Alliance and is focused on celebrating, showcasing and marketing NSW Regional Aboriginal Arts and Culture to the world through an annual program of activities and culminating in a festival style online NSW Aboriginal Regional Arts Market.
Numbers are limited. We will be preferencing Wanaruah/Wonnarua and Gringai/Worimi locals, but we won’t be exclusive. There will be a mix of experienced and emerging artists. And if you don’t get in this year, there’s next year as well, and plenty of other opportunities coming up.
Five works from each artist will be represented in the Art Market, with added mentoring, business advice and social media promotion. Sales will be managed by the Here, Now & Always team and postage and handling by Arts Upper Hunter.
Love to hear from you. Send a bio (who you are, where you’re from, where you live, what you create, why you create it) and either a link to images of your work or a couple of attachments to admin@artsupperhunter.com.au or natashak@artsupperhunter.com.au.
