The impulse to create and collect is innately human and can make life richer, fuller and deeper. And if you have a body of creative work or an interesting collection and are looking for an inclusive space to display your work or collection, the Muswellbrook Library is offering their spacious foyer to you.
The Muswellbrook Library is currently seeking Expressions of Interest from artists, collectors and artisans, who reside in the Muswellbrook or Upper Hunter shires, who would like to showcase and sell their three-dimensional works or private collections.
The library is in the centre of town and is visited by a wide cross section of residents, visitors and people passing through. The foyer features lockable glass cabinets suitable for display of three-dimensional works and collections such as ceramics, metal work, woven textiles and woodwork. The library will shortly be installing blinds behind the cabinet iwhich will add further protection from the sun for displayed collections. Previous displays have included woven artworks, metal work and private collections of musical instruments and military paraphernalia.
Interested applicants are requested to email a completed expression of interest form which includes:
• An overview of their work to be displayed
• Three photographs of current work or collection
Applications will be assessed on the suitability of works for display and local content. Works may be displayed for the purpose of sale.
