“Reaching 110 years is an extraordinary achievement for Muswellbrook Red Cross, and we are immensely proud of our long-standing commitment to supporting the community. This display not only celebrates our history but also acknowledges the tireless efforts of our volunteers,” said Val Angel, Treasurer.
The ethos of Red Cross Australia is to foster strong, inclusive communities where everyone feels valued and able to participate. Muswellbrook Red Cross, founded on 14 August 1914, embodies this spirit through various community initiatives.
Volunteering with the Red Cross offers an opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need. Community members are encouraged to join and become part of this enduring legacy. Membership is only $10 per year, a small contribution that goes a long way in supporting local efforts.
“Volunteering and being a member of a community-based organisation like the Red Cross is incredibly rewarding. It allows us to give back and make a positive impact on the lives of others. We hope this celebration inspires more people to join our cause,” added Val Angel.
“We invite everyone in the Hunter community to visit the Muswellbrook Library, engage with our history, and celebrate this momentous occasion with us.”
