Three part gig in Dungog at the Royal on 24 November! The Sister Cities tour grabs musicians from across NSW and puts them on mini tours with each other!
Andy Nelson’s music weaves together folk & Americana, captivating audiences with soulful vocals and a magnetic stage presence. He has supported renowned Australian artists including Kate Ceberano, Josh Pyke, Alex Lloyd, and Neil Murray. With heartfelt melodies, Andy forges connections with listeners by lyrically delving into the depths of human emotions, painting vivid pictures and exploring themes of love, wanderlust and the human condition.
Aspiring towards more simplistic notions and positive connections, Magpie Diaries is a musical force, full of soul, heart and sensibility. Led by songwriter Magpie Johnston (vocals, guitar) and wife Jessica (drums, vocals), Magpie Diaries is a collection of poetic stories delivered via smooth soul country, alternative folk rock, alongside flourishes of psychedelic nuance, attributed to great acts such as The Band, Neil Young, Grateful Dead and Van Morrison.
Raised on a steady diet of Hymns and Dylan, Mandy Hawkes unconventional voice is equal parts weary soul traveller and folk storyteller. She sings authentic songs that will move even the stoniest of hearts, marrying folk traditions with Australian country. After spending years in a musical wasteland, Mandy Hawkes began to write songs again, and became preoccupied with singing about mortality, end times and other serious themes.
