Textile artist Sophie Cox spoke at the launch of her exhibition Desks of Fabric at the Scone Museum, part of the This Here Then Now project—a museum activation program developed by Arts Upper Hunter with support from the Regional Arts Fund and the NSW Government. Sophie’s residency inspired a series of textile works created in response to the Museum’s century-old school desks, in collaboration with students from Scone Grammar School.
The works are now on display:
Scone Museum, 43-47 Kingdon St, Scone.
Open: Wednesdays, 9:30 am–2:30 pm, and Sundays, 2:30 pm–4:30 pm.
Visits outside these times can be arranged by appointment at 0476 471 089.
The Museum is closed for Christmas but will re-open in the New Year Wednesday 22nd January 2025.
