Lisa Melichar and Lisa A. Kennedy recently launched their very special children’s book, “There is Time”. This delightful book, which is iIllustrated by Lisa A. Kennedy, is suitable for 3 – 6 years olds.
With themes of simple pleasures, enjoying the moment, focusing on the task at hand, slowing down, mindfulness, appreciation and gratitude, “There is Time” is an illustrated children’s book that soothes the mind like a breath of fresh air.
Lisa Melichar said, ” When I admire someone, I love to pay forward what they do and, if I’m lucky, find a way to work with them. I’d already purchased beautiful art from Lisa Kennedy of Art by Lisa, and I’d had a chat with her on my podcast, the Jaunt Down Under pod. So when I penned a poem called “There is Time”, I reached out to her to see if she’d like to collaborate with me to turn it into a book. She did. We explored the theme, enhanced the words and she created original art to adorn the pages. With the support of Little Steps Publishing, a hybrid publisher, our book dreams have come true. We are very proud of our book and we are delighted to share its message with the community.
The world rushes, to fill the mind with news, possibilities and information to be handled. Children with their developing young minds and gentle curiosity, are surrounded by objects, people and actions clambering for attention. Our book, “There is Time” strives to quieten the noise and steady the urgency to rush through the day. It aims to curb a child’s flurry of eagerness, to help focus their enthusiasm to the task at hand. Through providing reassurance that there is indeed enough time, we hope to ease anxiety and give creativity stronger wings. We aspire to remind parents and children alike that we choose our path each day, and when on it, it’s ok to take time for pause, for slow, for the absorption of each moment with the gratitude and wonder that it deserves.”
