It is on again, The Scone Literary Festival March 6-9, 2025.
And with the theme ‘Sustainability- me, we, us, The Planet’ there is plenty to talk about.
Sal O’Regan shares some of the talent and fantastic events that make up with fabulous festival. .
Sal said, “We all about building connections, sustaining self and community, showcasing creativity and being inclusive. Whilst encouraging conversations about everything and almost anything!
This year we have Georgie Collinson joining us to share her insights about anxiety. Georgie will be part of our Wellbeing Literacy event that we are doing in partnership with Where There’s a Will on March 6, 2025. Marcelle Moore and Jen Cowley will also be joining her.
On Friday March 7, 2025 we have upskilling opportunities for all ages.
A Primary Writer’s workshop with Jo Riccioni, Emerging Writer’s workshop with Suzanne Leal, Marketing and LinkedIn workshop with Lucy Bingle and Louisa Bragg, Jeremy Lachlan visiting our schools and Ryan Butta chatting at the Merriwa CWA lunch.
All these wonderful word makers are celebrating their skills, journey and love of words with us!
Our panel line up on Saturday March 8, 2025 is exciting!
Tim Ayliffe, Chris Hammer, Michael Burge and Catherine du Peloux le Menage will chat crime, Nardi Simpson is joining us again with her new book The Belburd. Donna Cameron, Simon Cleary and Gail Holmes will also be here. And we will celebrate fantasy with Dan O’Malley, Kell Woods and Lev Grossman!
And did we mention that Dr Anika Molesworth and Geraldine Doogue are going to
be with us too! How lucky are we?
And then there is Sunday March 9, 2025. You are all welcome to a yoga class, putting yourself first to start the day with Upper Hunter Yoga. After come along and join us at the famous Westpac Helicopter Bush Poetry Breakfast. It is fun watching folk share poetry yarns in the beautiful gardens of Scone Arts and Crafts.
We have local author Bill Howey launching his new book ‘The way we were’ Scone’s historical tapestry 1825-2025. And to finish our festival there will be a rollicking laugh all about our love of the horse with Scott Bevan. Afterall, we are the Horse Capital!
This really is an SLF festival not to be missed!
