The Cad Factory (Narrandera) and Brand X (Sydney) are committed to a rural and urban flow of artistic exchange and learning. The Scene Shift residency program gives a regional artist studio space in the Sydney CBD and gives a Sydney artist studio space in rural NSW, creating a meaningful dialogue between the art ecologies of regional and metropolitan NSW.
How does it work?
Brand X will host a regional artist in their City of Sydney Creative Studios (CoSCS) over 2 x 14 day residencies. This opportunity is appropriate for individuals or collectives of two working in visual arts, interdisciplinary arts, design, performing arts, sound, writers, and researchers.
The Cad Factory will host metro artists in their Sandigo recording studio over 2 x 14 day residencies. This opportunity is appropriate for individuals or collectives of two working in experimental sound, music, site-specific/environmental/community inclusive arts, interdisciplinary arts, and performing arts.
What do artists receive?
● $400/week per diems ($1600 total)
● $4000 artist fee plus GST ($1000 per week)
● 12% super contribution
● Up to $800 for travel including flights, taxis, train and petrol (total amount over both residencies).
