{Making images, animations, AR and careers in the digital world}
NEXT Studio is a three-day intensive creative industries workshop teaching high school-aged students about digital art, animation and soundtrack elements. And it’s FREE.
Wednesday 9 to Friday 11 July 2025, 9am to 3pm each day.
The workshop will be held in Singleton Arts + Cultural Centre’s digital studio, making use of the new tech available there. Students will experiment with Virtual Reality, augmented reality, digital drawing, animation, sound recording, and beatmaking equipment and software.
With support from the NSW Government, this program utilises SACC’s state-of-the-art Digital Studio to introduce young creators to cutting-edge technologies.
Led by two industry professionals, artist Grace Barnes and a musician To Be Confirmed, students of all skill levels will collaborate to create impactful digital artworks, frame-by-frame animations, and original soundtrack elements, culminating in a community exhibition that showcases their creative achievements.
This is the second year of NEXT Studio – and it expands on last year’s energised program and follows an after-school workshop currently running through June.
This exciting opportunity combines hands-on learning with professional industry skills, empowering the next generation of digital artists and sound-artists while fostering creative collaboration and artistic expression in the Upper Hunter region. Along the way, the participants will get to think about their artist statement, future creative opportunities and performance or exhibition.
NEXT//STUDIO is for everyone, regardless of skill level. Those who love to create will get something out of it!
