Each 3.5-hour session will guide participants through the process of creating a compelling ATDW listing, using effective storytelling, visuals, and strategic promotion. The workshop will also explore ways to develop visitor-friendly experiences that reflect the richness of regional life—from farm tours and markets to open studios and cultural events—and help local operators put their place on the map.
This hands-on workshop is ideal for local creatives, event organisers, community groups, accommodation providers, and tourism operators wanting to:
- Build or enhance their ATDW profile
- Promote events and experiences to a wider audience
- Explore how to turn their existing work into attractive visitor offerings
- Strengthen their presence in the local tourism economy

“Share your story, grow your audience: ATDW & Beyond” is presented by Arts Upper Hunter, Muswellbrook Shire Council and the Upper Hunter Shire Council.
“Many groups have heard of the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse but aren’t aware of its extensive reach or how to use it effectively,” said workshop organiser Suzannah Jones from Arts Upper Hunter. “ATDW connects to many tourism websites and booking platforms across Australia. In this workshop, we’re hoping to unlock that potential for local operators and help them tap into a much broader audience.”
The Share Your Story program is created by Arts Upper Hunter in partnership with the Dungog, Muswellbrook, Singleton and Upper Hunter LGAs. It’s supported by the NSW Government through the Regional Arts Network.
