Don’t miss this concert being held on Saturday 4 July 202 in Dungog.
The music of the Metin Yilmaz Quartet unfurls like a breath from the mountains — carried by the mystical voice of the Bilûr/Kaval, the ancient flute of Metin’s homeland.
Joined by piano, double bass, and drums, the Metin Yilmaz Quartet weaves quartertones/microtonal scales and Kurdish/Anatolian modes into intricate rhythmic landscapes, where contemporary sensibilities meet timeless tradition. Their sound is at once soulful and exploratory, shaped by meditative improvisations and innovative jazz language that drift between the traditional and the modern.
Featuring:
• Metin Yilmaz – Bilûr/Kaval (Traditional Flute)
• Jodie Michael – Drums
• Matt McMahon – Piano
• Steve Elphick – Double Bass
Saturday 4 July 2026, 7.30pm to 9.30pm
Christ Church Anglican Hall, 51 Dowling Street, Dungog.
