Elizabeth Birch, organiser of the Awakening Workshop, has provided us with a report on this very successful quilting workshop.
” What a fantastic weekend we had. Thanks to the Arts Upper Hunter Country Arts Support Program Grant / Micro Grant 2026, we had some funds to put towards the “Awakening” workshop.
We were able to book Brenda Burgess to teach us how to use the flip La k system. Our beginners made the Easy Laced Stars, while the experienced made the Bali Star. Deb was on hand to keep an eye on the ironing station. The Scone Arts & Crafts was a great venue. It was great to have 16 people come. Our participants came from right across the Hunter Valley. Thanks for trusting us to get your kits together.
How clever the participants were to follow the instructions from Brenda and make a table runner. As you can see from the pictures it was a bit tricky but a great challenge.
It was just wonderful to have everyone get the tops finished to take home and show your family and friends. ”
