Dungog by Design presents a collection of works from both Vietnamese and the local artists supporting CORMIS, the institution that supports community development in DaNang, Vietnam, organised by artist Sasi Victoire. The works are for sales, all proceeds will go to CORMIS. This exhibition is for the month of November 2025.
In the words of Sasi Victoire:
“I have a firm belief that when rooted in place and community the power of art can broaden reach, connection and build lasting memories of creative respect and sharing.
This project began with a vision to respond to the state of the world embroiled in chaos. In a time of increasing conflict, disconnection, and uncertainty, my only cause of action was to use creativity to develop a model that flips the mounting stagnation and despair to connect with a positive momentum that would create connection and peace.
From this intention, a unique collaboration was born. A chance meeting gave me the opportunity to set up workshops with the generosity of the CEO of the Hilton Hotel. The series a of workshops in Danang and Bien Dan, not only grew the message of peace, but embodied it. Sparking the need for a global movement that could continue the mission.
The hosts were most generous and caring, we saw how the family unit worked most effectively when united. It was a simple strategy! On the partnership with Elizabeth Hunter (master printmaker) and Angela Crichton (documentation)…there is a certain knowing, a comfortable liaison that is upheld with time, dedication and knowledge, that our calling has purpose for those who embrace and trust to fulfil the task.
I am very aware of the fever that invades the soul in the magic of workshops. It captures hearts and souls and ignites dreams that are trapped within, through giving and sharing. Creativity captures hearts like a young romance, but unless fed and cared for will be quickly lost. Upon my return, I ran the same theme with support from printmaker Leigh Nankervis and the CWA for the local community of Dungog as a way of paying forward for the financial support Dungog by Design gave towards the project.”
