Capturing the sounds and magic of Latin America, and presenting a unique form of Latin American musical expression, forged in the crucible their families immigrant experiences in 70’s & 80’s Australia.
Sonido is one of Australia’s longest lived and most renowned exponents of Latin American music and folklore!
Over the years the band has expanded its musical boundaries by incorporating other Latin American music and folklore by including other instruments and styles, including the music of The Andeas, Uruguay, Venezuela, Mexico and Cuba .
Sonido has performed at major festivals and concerts around the world and around Australia, owing audiences for nearly 40 years
It is traditional music of a place on no map, but many maps , a folklore in search of a country.
